What are biogas energies?

The term biomass indicates a series of materials of biological, vegetable or animal origin, it is generally waste from agricultural activities which can be modified through various procedures, to obtain fuel or directly electrical and thermal energy, such as wood for burning or other types of organic waste, plants, seaweed and other waste.
Biomass energy is therefore the energy produced from these materials, it can be electrical or thermal energy. It is considered clean and renewable and is a source of alternative fuels that we can use instead of fossil fuels. Biomass plants for the production of electricity have considerable advantages, especially linked to the cycle of exploitation of biodegradable waste. Also for this reason, biomass is increasingly exploited, with a view to greater sustainability and respect for the environment

How does a biomass plant work?

Biomass is burned inside a combustion chamber: the heat thus generated is used to produce electricity or as a heating source. The operation is simple: the combustion of biomass releases heat which transforms the water of the thermodynamic plant into steam, thanks to this steam, the biomass plant generates electricity, putting into operation a turbine connected to an alternator, the steam rotates the turbine which, in turn, sets the alternator in rotation, which finally produces alternating electric current. The steam leaving the turbine is transformed into water by a condenser and is then reintroduced into the boiler. Biomass plants for the production of electricity therefore help the environment, favoring the reuse of waste, such as agricultural, but also urban and industrial waste, with this process two important problems of our production cycle are solved, storage and destruction.
